Bihar to Get Boosted With UDAN Flying Service

Centre’s Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) is being propagated to boost the 26 airports of Bihar state with better regional connectivity all over India. Prime Minister Modi launched the UDAN Scheme (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) that will connect 128 national routes in the country that will be operated by 5 Airlines in India.

This regional scheme includes 70 airports including 31 unserved and 12 under-served airports under UDAN. On each flight serving under this scheme there will be allocation of 50% seats which will be charged at the rate at Rs 2500 per hour basis.

Air Odhisa (50 routes), Air Deccan (34 routes), Turbo Megha Airways (18), Airline Allied Services (15 routes) and SpiceJet got 11 bids overall with their first services are expected to begin from Next month of September as indicated by Civil Aviation Secretary R N Choubey. Center Aviation minister while replying to a question in Rajya Sabha said that that the decision to award routes to the airlines was taken only after they gave bank guarantees for the routes

In Bihar the 26 selected routes are Aara, Betiya, BiharSharif, BeguSarai, Bihta, Baxar, Chapra, Darbhanga, Purnia, Madhubani, Saharsa, Raksaul, Katihar, Jogbani, Bhagalpur, Jahanabad, Motihari, Virpur, Panchanpaur(Gaya), Dehri, Hathua (Gopalganj), Safiabad (Munger), Bhabua, Kishanganj, Muzzafarpur.

There are talks in going for using Purnia Airforce airport as landing station with small terminal to maintain the flights schedule. While CM Nitish kumar also met Central Aviation Ministry Ashok Gajpati Raju on 14th July for making extra efforts for using these routes for connecting areas in Bihar respectively.
