Competition and clash are two inseparable components of Bollywood. The way 2017 started it seems that it is going to be the year full of competitions and clashes in B-town. Bollywood faced the first big clash of this year on 25th January when Rahul Dholakia’s Raees, staring Bollywood ka Badsha Shah Rukh Khan was released opposite to Sanjay Gupta’s Kaabil, which has the Greek God Hrithik Roshan in the lead role. There were gossips all around about which film will win the heart. With the box offie results on display, the anticipation of the majority has turned out to be true. Raees earned total INR 98.25 crore at the Box office and on the other hand Kaabil collected total INR 58 crore. One of the big reasons behind this huge difference is Raees was released on about 2,700 screens in India and for Kaabil it was only about 2,200 screens. Raees, which shares broad similarities with Gujrat’s infamous bootlegger Abdul Latif, projects King Khan in a negative role while, Kaabil is about a blind couple, taking revenge which concludes with a predictable ending.

Having watched both the movies, Amitabh Bacchan praised Shah Rukh Khan for his acting. The 74 years old superstar also praised Kaabil for its story and acting.

The leading critic of the industry, Rajeev Masand, however differs in opinion from Big B. While Raees gets the compliment of “enough to enjoy”, Masand opines that Hritik Roashan is the sole reason Kaabil doesn’t completely derail, and frankly the only reason to give the film a chance.”

Though Hritik’s father, Rakesh Roshan, was not that happy with the clash of release date urged Hrithik to postpone the date for the sake of business, Hrithik was totally cool about the clash and in an interview he said that if the film and content are good then one will get the proper reward no matter what.

According to Box Office, Raees took the best openings for a Shah Rukh Khan movie. Most of the audience praised for the intense and negative character of SRK in Raees and despite Hritik’s path breaking acting in Kaabil, Baniya ka Dimaag fell too hard on Hritik’s khub pe bharosa.
