There are reports that Apple might say goodbye to its original lightening connector and opt for USB-C port for the power cord and other peripheral devices. This switch will have a drastic effect on the users. This USB-C Port is used in several new Android phones and it is also used in current gen Apple Macbooks.

Most of the add ons of iPhone depend on the lightning connector for connectivity. With a change in the connector one will not be able to use the accessories or they will have to opt for a new adaptor. Apple has made such changes in the past as well like ditching the 30-pin port or doing away with the 3.5 mm earphone jack from iPhone 7 and 7 plus.
