Fast winds and unusual shower in the hot and dry month of April brought the searing temperature to some lower extent. Delhi city received 24.6mm rainfall with some light showers in several places at Haryana and Punjab.

There were some heavy rains and snowfall in few areas of Jammu & Kashmir forcing the Jammu-Srinagar Highway to be closed for second consecutive day. Uttarakhand also received rains and hailstorms in few areas. These rains might help curb the losses incurred due to forest fires but not considered good for standing crop.

Although atmosphere has cooled down for few days but that smells the danger for wheat crop for wheat farmers. If this weather conditions persisted than this year yield might get lowered.

Western Disturbances is the cause of this inclement weather which brings moisture form Eurasia water bodies resulting in rainfall in north-west India and subsequently snowfall in the Himalayan region.

Although this is temporary relief with IMD (Indian Metrological department) has predicted that next few months’ temperature will remain high for this year.

There were also reported deaths of 2 people and injuring 10 others in lightening incident in U.P. Rampur district.
