Rishi Kapoor Calls Anurag Basu An “Irresponsible Director” For The Delay Of Jagga Jasoos’s Release

After the massive delay in the release of “Jagga Josoos” director, Anurag Basu faces, even more, criticism as Rishi Kapoor lashed out at the filmmaker calling him “irresponsible” in an interview. In his well-known aggressive style, the veteran actor condemned the back office team of the film of which Ranbir Kapoor, his son, is the producer and actor alongside Katrina Kaif.

“He (Anurag) is such an irresponsible director that he doesn’t complete the film. It was supposed to release three times in the past two years, but it kept getting delayed,” senior Kapoor said about the film which finally hit the theaters on July 14.

Based on the information passed on by a reliable source, one of the news channels reported days before the release of “Jagga Jasoos” that the film post production yet to be completed following which it has missed its overseas deadline.

Talking about the delay, an agitated Rishi Kapoor said, “Honestly, Neetu and I saw the film on Thursday, only a day ahead of the release. Till Wednesday, Anurag Basu was still mixing the film. Can you imagine that? Pritam probably delivered the music only a week before.”

“Today’s filmmakers are doing this with everybody. They don’t show their films before release to take opinions, and treat it as though they’re making a nuclear bomb,” added Rishi.

Expressing his opinion about entirely chopping of Govinda’s role from the film, Rishi Kapoor opined that such acts will take a toll on his and his son’s repute. Rishi said, “You even threw Govinda out of the film. If you don’t want Govinda to work in your film, why did you ask him in the first place? Iss sab mein Ranbir ka naam toh kharaab hoga, aur kya? Mera kharaab hoga.”

However, apart from saying that it was a “big mistake” to produce a film in a comedy collectively, actor and producer of this film, Ranbir Kapoor has refrained from making any negative comment about Anurag Basu with whom he worked in Barfi, one of the most critically and commercially successful films of Bollywood.
