In another major reform made by the education board in the Maharashtra state for their newer text books of Class 7 and 9, as their history of Mughals, Cholas, Rajputs, Vijaynagar kingdoms has been shortened to just few lines in one chapter only while Shivaji Empire importance has further improved leading to their change in syllabus comprehensively.

Next generation of Maharashtra state will get to read more about the history of their state and contribution rather than option for overall country approach that was used earlier. Citing this as the reason the officials have changed the syllabus leading with Shivaji Empire as their main primary focus and putting rest of information in smaller version making just short note of it.

Ruled by RSS and BJP propaganda, this is seen as these historical changes of the books with no longer information about the iconic monuments of India Taj Mahal, Qutub Minaar, and the Red Fort their makers, duration of their build up and many more facts are generously removed from the textbooks. However the newer books will highlight the Emergency period that prevailed during the 1975-77 termed as dark era for democratic India and BOFORS Scam that led to change in the center government thereafter.

Explaining the approach and the shape of new books the information being lead out is “The special feature of this presentation is that it focuses on Maharashtra. Even though our state is part of the Republic of India, if we study history from the perspective of Maharashtra, we will understand the position, role and contribution of Maharashtra in the History of India, and the students will develop a more mature national feeling.” as note for teachers and students respectively.

“We have written the book from point of view of Maratha history, so only those incidents relevant to it have been printed.” “We have changed the perception of the textbook, as mentioned in it,” said Mogal Jadhav being part of the History Subject Committee that rewrote the book.

Officials also pointed that this syallabus was finalized in 2016 with after taking suggestion and objections from public with online viewing at ebalbharti.in! As there were no objections from any sector the syllabus is being changed considerably. Whereas according to teachers the books are concise taking in all the important national events, although few chapters are clubbed together there but historical facts are intact.
