Hindus in Pakistan being the largest religious minorities is still suffering the after effects of partition as they face the uphill task of discrimination, forced marriages and brutal rape in this Muslim land of Pakistan.

In 1947 with the partition of India, the world saw one of the largest mass migration ever recorded in human history with 15 millions people were displaced which on further violence created months of violence in the areas that saw bloodbaths of thousand on the border land between two countries respectively. Hindus and Sikhs from Pakistan moved towards India while Muslim on Pakistan side creating chaotic scenes all over the border.

“No job, no house, no money, no food. There, we were working in the fields, we were farmers. But here people like us are forced to break rocks to earn a living,” told one of the crossovers who find himself in another life here in India too. Being held under the suspicion of authorities has forced some of them to take harsh steps. They are harassed by Indian agencies and treated as agents from Pakistan.

“For us, the partition is still not over. Hindus are still trying to come back to their country. And when they come here, they have nothing,” told another refugee on facing same struggles back in India too.

Although Last year PM Modi cleared a lot of struggles for these refugees with fast track Indian citizenship with seven years in the country.

But still, this is a long time “We are just like cattle with no owners. We are just surviving on our own,” refugee told.
