Controversial Bangladeshi writter Taslima Nasreen who planned to visit the historic sites of the city of Aurangabad had to return to Mumbai from the city’s airport as AIMIM legislator Imtiyaz Jaleel led protests outside Aurangabad airport and the hotel where Nasreen was supposed to stay.

Amidst the slogan of “Tasleema go back”  by the protestors the police asked the writter to stay inside the airport. Sensing that there was a high change of law and order problem, the cops asked Nasreen to fly back to Mumbai which she agreed.
“Nasreen was sent back to Mumbai by the next flight to avoid any law and order problem,” said, Rahul Shrirame, the deputy police commissioner of the airport zone.
He further informed that the award winning writter immediately agreed to fly back to Mumbai after she was told about the protests outside.
Nasreen was on a 3 day visit to the city where she was expected to visit heritage sites like Ajanta and Ellora.
Imtiyaz Jaleel, a legislator of Asaduddin Owaisi’s party who organised and planned the protests said, “Her (Taslima Nasreen’s) writings have hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims across the world. We will not allow her to step on the soil of our city.”
