Vijay Mallya Case Hearing Set To Be At UK Court Today

Business tycoon Mr. Vijay Mallya, who is absconding from India, will go under the set preceding court hearing in Westminster Magistrate’s Court (London) for as Britain Crown prosecution services will argue on behalf of India for extradition charges levied subject to crimes in sub-continent country.

This hearing is already late by almost one month will be held on June 13 for case pertaining to the Mr. Mallya for defaulting bank loans that are nearly ₹9,000 crore in amount. He was arrested earlier in April and got the bail simultaneously after paying bond of £650,000.

For this hearing to be successful in India’s favour, charges have to be proved in Britain as offence with imprisonment of at least one year accordingly to the European Convention on Human Rights.

Although Indian-UK Etradition treaty was signed in the 1993 there were no successful exchanges of any individual until last year when Samirbhai Vinubhai Patel, wanted in Gujrat riots of 2002 was extradited from there successfully. This lead to hope with future criminals being charged as well, prompting CBI which sent his team to London last month with all the necessary documents for charging Mr Mallya, in the courts of the UK for crimes he committed in India.

Indian Cricket Fans Booed Mallya

Mr. Vijay Mallya has made a lot of public appearance in London as ardent fan of cricket matches. His photos at high voltage match India and Pakistan went viral on social media. At Virat Charity’s function he also caused discomfort to the Indian players as well and when he was entering to watch the match of India & South Africa, fans didn’t let him be comfortable. As supporters saw Mr Mallya at the gates of the stadium on Oval, they started shouting “Chor, Chor”. His video of fan with booed remarks was making rounds in Social media as well.
