Akshay Kumar was announced the national award for best actor first time with his court room drama movie “Rustom”. He said it was honour to be given the top national award for his performance
“Thank you is a very small word right now but I don’t know how else to express how I am feeling right now… ‘Rustom’ was a very special role to play. Being able to wear the uniform of Indian Navy itself is a huge honour, even if it’s just for a role,” He said in personal video message to his fans.
Sonam Kapoor also got special mention in the National award for his performance in the movie Neerja, portraying as Neerja Bhanot only. Sonam was quoted as being happy for receiving the critics award with honour.
Kasav Marathi movie was adjudged as the Best Feature film, C.M. Surabhi was announced the Best actress for Minnaminungu for her performance of 45 year old widow. Rajesh Mapuska was awarded the best director for Marathi movie “Ventilator”. Movie Pink with Amitabh Bachchan starrer was awarded the Best film on social issues while Zaira Wasim was announced as Best Supporting Actress for ‘Dungal’.
